At least 176 people died, three were missing and only two survived a plane crash at Muan Airport in South Jeolla Province on December 29, the South Korean fire department said.
The Jeju Air Boeing 737-800, carrying 181 passengers from Bangkok, Thailand, to Muan, failed to start its wheels upon landing, causing it to land on its belly. As a result, the plane hit a fence at the end of the runway and exploded.
The male flight attendant who was rescued from the plane did not seem to remember what happened when examined by doctors at the hospital. After being taken from the tail of the plane and taken to Mokpo Hankook Hospital, the flight attendant asked, “What happened? How did I get here?”, according to The Korea Herald.
